Monitoring Of University Projects Meeting Discusses And Identifies Critical Development Project Issues

MONITORING OF UNIVERSITY PROJECTS MEETING DISCUSSES AND IDENTIFIES CRITICAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ISSUES

In a bid to discuss and identify development issues at the university, the Monitoring of Public Universities, Educational Department of Polytechnics And Community College Projects Meeting was held at the Senate Room recently.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof Dr Ayoib Che Ahmad said ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø was committed to conserving natural resources and improving the quality of the campus environment that is surrounded by the beautiful flora and fauna.

He said ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, located far from the bustling city, provided on campus accommodation for its students which currently totalled at 33,016 students.

"In addition, the university also has major buildings where various departments occupy including academic colleges where all of these buildings require maintenance cost and the installation of latest technology systems in order to remain relevant to current technology.

"Currently, there is one project under the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP) and three projects under the 11th Plan which are under construction, while another five are in the process of procurement," he said.

He added that he was grateful for the commitment and cooperation rendered by the Public Works Department (JKR) in carrying out development projects in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.

He said ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø hoped that all projects that were approved would be expedited so that conducive conditions could be provided to the students, thus helping the university resolve student complaints on ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø facilities and infrastructure issues.

The meeting which was chaired by the Deputy Secretary of the Development Division, Higher Education Department, MoE, Dato' Che Sukri Che Mat was aimed at monitoring the expenditure performance and physical progress of each development project in public universities, polytechnics and community colleges.

In addition, the meeting was also aimed at identifying and discussing critical issues of development projects currently underway in the Ministry.

At the meeting, there were two presentation sessions conducted according to zone that involved 22 public universities and polytechnics and community colleges across the country.
