Dr. Risyawati Mohamed Ismail created history when she was appointed as the leading expert on halal industry in conjunction with the 3rd International Halal Technical Capacity Development Programme (IHTCDP) conference held at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
The expertise of the Senior Lecturer from the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) School of Technology Management and Logistics (STML) in the halal technical field received worldwide recognition thus entrusting her with the responsibility of training participants from halal certification bodies from abroad such as the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, China, Australia, United Arab Emirates United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Europe.
IHTCDP is an international capacity development training programme held annually, gathering participants from around the world consisting of halal industry players, business leaders, entrepreneurs, halal auditors, halal products exporters and Halal Certification Bodies / Certifiers which are certified by Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).
Entering its third year of hosting, IHTCDP also featured mini interactive forums between programme participants and relevant authorities / experts, pocket talks as well as inspirational sessions conducted by representatives from various halal industries.
The programme, jointly organized by JAKIM, saw more than 70 participants being enlightened to technical topics such as halal parameters for industry, critical materials and analysis in halal science.
IHTCDP covers an array of halal businesses including food products, food premises, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products and logistics services.
Dr. Risyawati expressed her elation on being entrusted with conducting training sessions and discussions on halal supply chain, Halal Assurance System (HAS) and the impact of using latest technology on the continuity and transparency of supply chain and halal services.
Dr. Risyawati is the Director of FInDER (Food Security, Innovation & Development Research Centre), one of the research units under the auspices of STML that focuses on food safety, innovation and development.
With 12 years in the halal industry under her belt, she is a certified food scientist and a halal instructor recognised by JAKIM.
Meanwhile the Dean of STML, Assoc. Prof Dr Nor Hasni Osman expressed her gratitude and elation when the educator from STML received recognition from JAKIM, halal industry and halal communities globally.
"I hope this effort will continue and further expand in the future to help raise ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's name globally," she said.
