SULTAN OF KEDAH OFFICIATES THE GROUND-BREAKING CEREMONY FOR UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) SULTAN SALLEHUDDIN GOLF CLUB PROJECT (KGSS)

KGSSºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ONLINE: His Royal Highness (HRH) Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, Sultan of Kedah Darulaman and Tuanku Chancellor of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) consented to officiate the Ground-breaking Ceremony for the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) Sultan Sallehuddin Golf Club Project (KGSS) which was held virtually for the first time via the Zoom application from the Kedah Palace, Kuala Lumpur recently.

HRH officiated the Ground-breaking Ceremony for the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Golf Club and consented to rename it the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Sultan Sallehuddin Golf Club (KGSS).

Following that, Tuanku Sultan of Kedah viewed the inauguration video montage, and HRH expressed his admiration for the design of the new KGSS building, which is surrounded by a green panorama.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani, stated that the new golf club building would complete the infrastructure of the 18-hole golf course at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Sintok campus and would be a new attraction for golfers not only in the country, but all over the world.

According to him, the project would also improve the image of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø National Golf Academy (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø NGA), the country's only golf academy and recognised as the national golf centre of excellence.

"Hopefully, the Sultan Sallehuddin Golf Club (KGSS) ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø will be a catalyst for the advancement and excellence of golf in Kedah, and in Malaysia in general," he said.

The virtual ceremony was held in accordance with the directives of the National Security Council and the Ministry of Health Malaysia's to combat the spread of COVID-19.
