ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø And CIMB Establish Strategic Collaboration
Kuala Lumpur - Prof Dato' Dr Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Vice-Chancellor paid a courtesy call on YM Tengku Dato' Sri Zafrul Aziz, Group CEO of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad recently.
This courtesy visit was aimed at discussing strategic partnership involving ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and CIMB.
CIMB is a very important industry partner for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø especially with the establishment of the CIMB Professorial Chair at the School of Economics, Finance and Banking. CIMB contributed endowment funds to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø in 1997 to support the development of scholarly activities in the field of finance and banking.
Through the discussion, both parties agreed to strengthen the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø-CIMB partnership through the implementation of high impact programmes for the stakeholders at both organisations. CIMB Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes need to follow the goals set by the CIMB Foundation.
In line with the growing demographic of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø students coming from the B40 group, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø announced the proposal to run an entrepreneurial incubator programme to help students from the B40 group generate income throughout the duration of their studies at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø will provide CIMB with a complete proposal in the near future. All programmes will be monitored through Key Performance Indexs (KPIs) which will be co-ordinated by CIMB and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.
At the meeting, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Vice-Chancellor extended an invitation to officials from CIMB to attend the CIMB Professorial Chair Public Lecture which will be presented by Prof. Dr. Jonathan Baten at PNB Perdana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 30th September.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø truly valued the confidence and cooperation rendered by CIMB since the year 1997 and the collaboration will be further strengthened through strategic cooperation with the implementation of new high impact programmes.
The discussion also saw the attendance of Datuk Hamidah Naziadin, the Group Chief People Officer, Tunku Zainul Hashim, the Managing Director and Co-Head Client Coverage - Group Wholesale Banking and Mr Rosman Nordin, the Managing Director and Client Coverage - Government Relations Group Wholesale Banking.
Meanwhile, the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø representatives who attended the session included the Dean of SEFB, Director of BSD, the Legal Advisor and Director of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø COB AACSB Accreditation Unit.
