SINTOK, 31 July 2025: The 66th Meeting of the Malaysian Higher Education Teaching and Learning Council (MAGNETIC) No. 2/2025 was held this morning at the at the Senate Meeting Room, 窪蹋勛圖厙 (窪蹋勛圖厙).
This meeting brought together directors and heads of teaching and learning centres from all Public Higher Education Institutions (IPTA) across Malaysia to deliberate on strategic plans, new initiatives and pressing issues related to teaching and learning (T&L) excellence in the nations higher education landscape.
In his keynote speech, 窪蹋勛圖厙 Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan emphasised the importance of collaboration among higher education institutions to strengthen the nations higher education system in accordance with technological advancements and the evolving needs of todays students.
Delivering the speech on his behalf, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, stated, We can no longer move forward in isolation, rather, we must harness our collective strengths to jointly enhance the quality of teaching and learning in our country.
Additionally, he underscored the significance of higher education institutions as agents of educational transformation.
Prof. Dato Dr Mohd Foad also expressed hope that this meeting would serve as a platform for the exchange of best practices and the development of collaborative initiatives that would significantly enhance the quality of teaching and learning in higher education institutions.
Also present was the Chair of MAGNETIC and Director of the Centre for Academic Development and Leadership Excellence (CADe-Lead), Universiti Putra Malaysia, Assoc. Prof. Dr Wan Zuhainis Saad.
I am deeply grateful to the former MAGNETIC members who have retired and warmly welcome the new MAGNETIC members, she said.
The MAGNETIC delegation is also scheduled to visit Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Pattani, to explore opportunities for regional collaboration and exchange of best practices in the context of regional higher education.
The successful organisation of this meeting reflects 窪蹋勛圖厙s ongoing commitment to strengthening collaborative networks and advancing leadership in Malaysian higher education, in line with its position as the countrys eminent management university.
