ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø LENDS A HAND TO EASE STUDENTS’ BURDEN

L SUMBANGAN YANºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ONLINE: A total of five students from ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) who were affected by the water surge incident at Gunung Jerai, Yan on 18 August recently received donations.

Ms. Nur Khairina Mohd Kassim, a semester four student of the Bachelor of Banking programme, expressed her gratitude to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø for caring about the welfare of its students, particularly those affected by the tragedy.

According to her, she and her family were moved and thrilled to see the university administration come all the way to channel contributions such as financial aid, cooking supplies, head scarves, and books.

Ms. Nur Khairina recounted the incident, saying that before the incidence, it had been raining nonstop since around 4.30 p.m.

“Suddenly, my family and I heard a loud and frightening sound; presumably, the logs crashed and were carried away by the water surge on the river route; the house here rapidly began to fill with water.

"The frightening moment occurred when the water covered the land area; fortunately, my house was not inundated, but the yard and area around the house were filled with downed trees, sludge, and slime," she explained.

According to her, the incident resulted in the overflow of water from the Titi Hayun river into the adjacent village area.

The internet network in her residence was disrupted as a result of the disaster, but she was thankful since the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø lecturer recognised the circumstances of students who were affected by the tragedy.

"We are constantly on the lookout for and assisting students from the B40 family. And e-kasih is a show of sensitivity and ongoing concern, ensuring that ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø remains a constant presence in the hearts of students and members of the community," said Prof. Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah.
