ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ONLINE: Cyberjaya – The meeting between ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) and the Malay Vehicle Importers and Dealers Association of Malaysia (PEKEMA) has created an opportunity for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø to collaborate with PEKEMA in offering valuable insights to the government.
A ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø delegation, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan along with a member of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Board of Directors, Mr. Zambri Mat and Prof. Dr Ram Al Jaffri Saad, the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø COB Assistant Vice-Chancellor, who is also the Dean of the Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA), attended a discussion at Wisma Yayasan PEKEMA recently.
The arrival of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø delegation was warmly welcomed by the Chairman of PEKEMA, Datuk Mohamed Nazari Noordin, along with several key leaders of PEKEMA. During the meeting, they discussed ºÚÁϳԹÏ꿉۪s contribution in preparing a policy paper to be presented to the government. The policy paper aims to alter the perception and image of PEKEMA, not only within the government, but also within the community. The focus is on the exclusive rights import permit system (AP) for imported vehicles.
Prof. Dato' Dr Mohd Foad stated that the policy paper will focus on the contribution of PEKEMA to the country's economic development, particularly in the automotive industry.
According to him, this policy paper will be submitted to the government, particularly for consideration in the policy-making process through PEKEMA. The goal is to establish PEKEMA as a significant industry player that the government must acknowledge and treat seriously, particularly when it comes to policies and regulations that impact this industry.
The discussion also centred on other initiatives that can be implemented by both parties, namely community service and lifelong learning among members and families.
He said ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is consistently willing to collaborate with the industry to help contribute to activities that will benefit all parties, particularly in the advancement of society and the nation.
Meanwhile, the President of PEKEMA, Datuk Mohamed Nazari, expressed his intentions to offer scholarships to students pursuing studies in related fields.
