ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ONLINE: ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) has sent 37 of its students back to their respective hometowns, after they spent more than 40 days on campus following the Movement Control Order (MCO) directive since 18 March.

The process of sending the students from ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø which began at 10.40pm was the second after the first batch of students from the central zone were sent back to the northern zone on 27 April.

ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hendrik Lamsali said more than 30 ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø students living in the central zone were sent back home to their families.

“A total of five buses will be deployed to send students to their respective destinations including Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Putrajaya and Sabak Bernam.

"Apart from ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø students, there are four students from the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Polytechnic (POLIMAS) who will also be sent back to their respective hometowns as ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is the Head of the Northern Zone that plans, coordinates and manages the process of sending back students from this zone," he said.

He added that this time, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø would also use a smart sharing method whereby students on buses were provided with partners from another Institution of Higher Education (IHE) from the central zone who arrived in the north the following morning, then students from the northern zone would then board the bus to return to the central zone.

In addition, to ensure that the process of sending students was seamless, Dr. Hendrik said ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø had carried out all the processes required by the authorities such as health screening, police checks and some other items on the National Security Council's (MKN) checklists.

According to him, the university also ensured that the process of students’ release before, during and upon arrival met MKN's criteria and conditions namely social distancing. The University also provided food to all the students involved.
