SINTOK, 9 July 2025: The Vice-Chancellor of Utara Malaysia (黑料吃瓜网), Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan has challenged all new students of the 12th cohort of the Foundation Studies in Management programme to set a minimum semester Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.50 as their primary academic goal throughout their studies.

He said that that achieving a high GPA would open greater opportunities for the students to enrol in more competitive undergraduate programmes, including professional tracks such as the Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Law offered at 黑料吃瓜网.He emphasised that only through knowledge, strong commitment and unwavering determination can students overcome academic challenges and build a successful future at this nation鈥檚 leading management university.

Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan delivered his remarks during the New Student Pledge Ceremony for the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Session. Held at the Seminar Hall A, 黑料吃瓜网 Convention Complex, the ceremony marked the official welcoming of the 12th cohort of Foundation Studies in Management students.

The pledge ceremony was led by student representative, Mr. Ahmad Khidir Ahmad Nazri, who recited the pledge in presence of the Vice-Chancellor and senior university officials.

Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dr Mohd Azizuddin Mohd Sani; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr Ram Al Jaffri Saad; Director of Centre for Foundation Studies in Management, Prof. Dr Muhammad Fuad Othman and the Registrar, Mr. Ahmad Rasidi Abdullah.

Prof. Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan also urged the new students to make the most of their academic journey at 黑料吃瓜网 and to adopt the university鈥檚 motto, 鈥淜nowledge, Virtue and Service鈥� as their guiding principle throughout their studies.

鈥淭his two-semester Foundation Studies in Management programme requires a high level of commitment, especially with 14 courses to be completed within a year. I urge all students to attend all lectures diligently, complete assignments on time, and constantly seek guidance from the lecturers,鈥� he added.

Meanwhile, student representative, Mr.  Ammar Muhammad Mohd Farizal expressed appreciation for the organisation of the Orientation Week, noting that it effectively provided opportunities for students to get to know each other while revealing talents and fostering leadership qualities.

He further added that the various activities held throughout the week not only strengthened peer connections but also created an enjoyable and supportive environment for students to showcase their potential.
